Corsair 1000W HX Series PSUThe Corsair 1000W HX PSU joins the family of well received Corsair HX Series Enthusiast Grade Power Supplies known for their rock solid stability, enhanced modular cable design and high efficiency. The Corsair 1000W HX features six PCI-Express connectors, both 6-pin and 8-pin compatible, to power multiple high-end graphics cards and two EPS12V connectors for dual CPU configurations. The truly independent dual

LOOK NO FURTHER

Not ApplicableTRI SLI certified, and yes it can run 3 gtx 280's overclocked along with E6850 clocked at 3.71ghz. 7 LED case fans and 3 non led fans, 4 usb devices, 2 HD's, 1 burner , 4 gigs of DDR3 ram @1900 mhz. And to think Nvidia doesn't have this listed to run TRI SLI gtx 280 is a shame, it does it no problem. I played crysis for 4 hours straight at 2560 x 1600 resolution, straining those video cards and I had no lock ups or freezes whatsoever, I had to call it quits and go make dinner. Comes with a nice storage bag for all your cables ,and I didn't even use them all. Cables are flat which makes it easy to route through your case. Modular , Use only the cables you need for your set up. plenty of zip ties to keep things tidy, even comes with a case sticker. 1000 watts of continuous power @ 50 degrees celsius.(This baby has more under the hood than what she shows) OK, I said short and sweet.
If you're looking for a top quality high end psu, look no further. This PSU will power even the most demanding rig. I would recommend this to anyone .It powers my setup and doesn't even break a sweat. Can't wait to watercool my QX9650. Awesome PSU Corsair.
Perfect for Geforce 280 systems

Windows XPI purchased one of these power supplies along with a new EVGA Geforce 280 GTX, and i am happy to say that i have found no real downsides to this power supply, other than its rather surprising size. It is up to 6cm longer than your average PSU, so make sure it will fit in your case before purchasing one (midi towers may be too small).
Its quite under load, constantly supplies enoug power to power 2x geforce 280 GTX and 6x Sata drives. The voltage ripple is extremely good, causing very little fluctuation in power. It sports two rails, which also means fewer power fluctuations (less rails = better). It is modular, meaning very little cable clutter, and the modular cables are long enough for even the largest atx towers, and it also supports up to Tri-SLi.
This power supply is one of only a few certified to adequately power Dual geforce 280 GTX cards in SLI (certified at SLIzone).
Overall, this is one of the best power supplies around for gaming rings. Easily worth a 5/5 rating.

Windows VistaI suppose it's hard to review a PSU, they are not exactly that exciting are they?
Anyway, having used and been pleased with Antec PSU's in the past I was a little concerned that another brand may be inferior, e.g. noisy etc. This was totally unfounded as far as the Corsair 1000w HX was concerned, in operation it is very quiet and inaudible over the case fans in my Antec 1200 case.
The modular cable system was also something I was unsure about, but again I'm happy to report that I've also been proven wrong here too. The cables attach with a nice reassuring "click" and long enough without being excessively long. The numerous cables are supplied in their own pouch, which while unecessary does instill some extra confidence in an already impressive product.
My only slight complaint (and this is purely personal) is that it does not have a blue led fan to compliment the rest of the fans in my system, but then I knew this before I made my purchase. ;-)

THE BEAST....

Windows XPPros: This power supply is awesome. Modularity is definitely a selling point. There are 4 cables that are not modular. The 24 Pin ATX cable, the 8 pin motherboard power cable and it also includes 2 6-pin PCI-E cables that are extra long. For all you folks running just one GPU such as the 8800GTX you don't even have to hook any modular power cables up. Very clean power delivery. It has a nice black case with a big 140mm fan.
Cons: It's big and heavy, it's about a quarter size bigger than the HX620W. Modular cables are not very flexible. This is me nitpicking but they should of kept all the wires for the 8 pin and 2x 6pin black in color like they did for all the modular cables, instead of mixing yellow in there.

Modular cables could have been a little longer... Two cables were seriously an INCH too short for my ThermalTake Armor+ full tower case... the case itself is pretty big though
This is the best power supply... Only cables that aren't modular are the 8-pin and main power cables as well as two 6-pin PCI-E connectors, which all have to be plugged in at all times anyways... Don't listen to people who say 1000W is overkill. I won't have to worry about upgrading my PSU for years!

Windows XPI recently swapped the PSU on my quad core Mesh PC from the included OCZ1000PXS to a Corsair HX1000W, and saw a noise reduction from 54dB to 39dB, mainly due to the use of a slow 140mm top mounted fan instead of the 80mm end mounted fan of the OCZ. The Corsair is a superb product, and I thoroughly recommend it!
