Fantastic!

Not ApplicableHaving used Winows 98, XP Pro and Vista, I can safely say that Windows 7 beats them all hands down! I ran Windows 7 RC for a couple of months to try it out and I liked it so much that I had no hesitation at all in pre-ordering it ahead of its official UK release.
It's leaner, faster and more productive than any previous version of Windows. The search faclity is lightening fast! It installs quickly and easily. And it alows you to revert to previous versions of individual files without having to do a complete System Restore!
Another point worth mentioning is that with the Retail version you get two discs, giving you the option to install the 32-bit version or the 64-bit version!
Fantastic!
Question
Ubuntu 9.10 / broken XP due to hard drive malfunction windows didnt even die after 5 years god im going to miss it...
any ways this is why I am upgrading to windows 7 and all the good reviews if i was still left with the option of vista i would have stayed with Ubuntu, but due to incompatibility with 80 of my games i have decided to upgrade
there is how ever one small problem i dont know if this a 64 bit or 32bit version or does it include both because it neither says in the title or in the description weather it is one or the other actually in the description it give the recommended specs for both
now this wouldn't really be a problem because i have a 64bit processor and there are 64bit versions of most of the software that i use BUT the RAM expectations for 64 bit are just within my means 2GB and i would much rather have more than enough because i use a lot of apps at one time
also i have been able to briefly use windows 7 and it was awesome 5 stars
Fantastic
operating system:
Not ApplicableThis is the best version of Windows yet.I originally bought for a new pc Ive built, but got got giddy and installed on my old one first,so easy to install,so far Ive not had to install a single motherboard driver.Ive since installed new motherboard and processor and windows 7 has again installed all relevant drivers with no conflicts and device manager shows no exclamation marks!!!,Ive not needed to do a clean install!.
The only drivers ive had to install were for my Canon MP610 printer, windows installed enough drivers to be able to print, but my printer prints cd's so I installed the Vista drivers that came with it and now it works fine.
Both 32 and 64bit versions are in the box.
Even the wife is impressed and wants it on her laptop...And the wife doesn't get giddy over computers!...Ha!
This is the best
operating system:
Windows 7This is the best OS I have used. i pre ordered it and got it delivered on the day of release. nice one ebuyer. also i have installed both 32 and 64 bit on my pc. and both are great. my favourite thing about it is media centre. it it so much better than the vista version. and if you use media browser. your movie collection looks amazing.
Moved from Vista 64bit
operating system:
Windows VistaYou get both 32-64 bit discs in this Retail version. Detected my x58, i7, 6gb Ram, Gtx 260 in Sli, 64gb SSD setup with out needing any other discs. Faster, more responsive, less cluterred than Vista. Worth getting this Retail for £91.95 instead of £80 for an OEM.
Excellent Highly Recommended
Absolute Gem
operating system:
Windows 7Hi. First of all this version comes with 2 discs inside,th 32 bit & 64 bit versions. I opted to install the 64 bit version, mainly due to I have 8GB of ram and 64 bit recognises all of it.(32 bit only up to 3GB)
Also I installed onto a brand new Samsung 1TB F3 drive, also purchased from Ebuyer.
From booting the my P.C. up to a complete install, it took only around 30min!!
I will just mention that during the install process, you have the option to upgrade over an existing operating system as well.
During install Windows 7 found all my drivers, including the one for my graphics card!!
I'm no computer "wizz",but take it from me this is an absolute "doddle" to install.Just follow the step by step instructions on screen instructions and you can't go wrong.
Once installed you won't be disapointed.Coming from Vista 64 bit,my computer now runs quicker & smoother compared to Vista.
Although its a new operating system,if you are familiar with XP or Vista you will know your way around Windows 7 in no time.
Windows 7 is an absolute gem.
Microsofts best operating system yet.
operating system:
Windows 7I must admit that I was hesitant in buying Windows 7,I need not have worried.
I used to use Windows XP Home Edition and whilst this was and still is a stable and reliable OS it is now starting to look dated and the time will come when Microsoft will discontinue support for XP.
Anyway,Windows 7 comes in two versions,in the box there are 2 DVDs one is Windows 7 64bit and the other Windows 7 32bit,I decided to use the 64bit version and what a transformation!,so far I have had no compatability issues with my existing software/hardware and ALL of my RAM is fully used hence my homebuild PC is even faster.
I would like to recommend Windows 7 to anybody looking to upgrade from XP or Vista,Microsoft have done a excellent job in developing Windows 7 and the support for this product is excellent,it is also worth noting that Windows 7 uses DirectX 11 which is pre-loaded.
Give W7 a try and you wont be dissapointed.
There is some confusion!
Win XP cannot be run in W7 Home Premium unless you install VM Ware (or another virtual machine) to facilitate it...
No version of W7 includes an XP license either, what you can do on Pro/Ultimate is install your own licensed copy of XP...
As for lean, LOL, it's fatter than Vista - however there are some important improvements to memory management and safety...
I'd give it five stars if only the installer was better, and if support for AHCI was there for all boards, and if there were fewer problems with this OS working with Nvidia chipsets and video cards...
Roll on SP1...
Hellooo
Rest in Peace Vista
32bit/64bit
Has this got both 32bit and 64Bit versions? Thanks
Yes, the Retail box contains both versions
