Very good case for the price
operating system:Windows XPI had used a full sized P180 for my last build and was very impressed with the build quality and the low noise output and good cooling. This mini version has something to live up to! It is built to the same quality.
There are two fans built in, a 120MM fan in the back and a massive 19/20CM fan in top of the case. Both have a back panel mounted three speed switch marked L/M/H. On low the noise levels are reasonably quiet. That large top fan only leaves a limited depth for the DVD rom drive at the top.
There is room for full sized PSU, but the PSU compartment lends itself better to PSUs with the fan in the back rather than the side of the PSU.
There are two 5.25" bays at the bottom that have full depth. My aging DVD-RW was too deep for the top bay - and I had to go for one of the unconventional bottom slots. Mounting an MATX motherboard was simple into the threaded stand-offs. Front panel cabling is fine, 2xUSB2 1xeSATA, 1 line-out/headphone & 1 microphone 3.5mm jack. The reset switch and power switch are behind the door. Only real gripes with the case is that the fans have Molex sockets and not motherboard sockets and so you cannot monitor their speed via the motherboard. Also the wires from the big fan are short, requiring you to run a thick PSU cable across the case. Not ideal.
Cooling is great - my Phenom x3 runs at 32-36 degrees without the top fan running at all. This may be partly due to my good CPU cooler (Scythe Andy Samurai Master). The two drive bay containers are easily removable and have rubber mounts for the drives to keep noise down.
I had a little problem with mine - a fan blade fell off the large top fan when I first turned it on. This must have been due to damage to the fan before it was installed in the case. An unlikely problem that was fixed with a bit of Araldite!
In summary - a classy looking and capable case - a steal at 60 pounds in my opinion.
Professional Review
There is a lengthy, and favourable, review at http://www.silentpcreview.com/article810-page1.html with pretty much all the info you'd need about this case.
Amazing
operating system:Windows Vistathis case is amazing for a micro-atx case it looks amazing and has brilliant cooling and cable managment!
A+++++
operating system:Windows XPExcellent case. You can feel the quality, and never again will I buy a crappy case.
(i wont need to either now I have this!).
Fits a HUGE scythe ninja II 120mm cubed heatsink without a fuss.
the only downside was my motherboard which meant i couldnt fit the 120mm fan to it. BUT...
this wasnt an issue, as the top fan and rear fan were so close they acted as the heatsinks on the dual fan system.
it is SO quiet. the noisiest thing in there is my harddrive, even that is pretty tame, oh and the dvd writer on full spin.
