The sleek interior is matched with pre-fitted, dense noise absorbing material on the side panels, efficiently absorbing noise and vibrations. You can fit an astonishing total of eight 3.5" hard drives into this case, using the user friendly HDD-trays. All HDDs are mounted using black silicone mounts to reduce vibrations. The PSU is mounted in the bottom of the case, where it rests on four rubber pads. There is also a convenient pull-out air filter beneath PSU, this filters the air that comes into the PSU, assuming you are using a power supply with a 120mm fan.
Are you one of those users always ending up with a case full of tangled cables? Not any more - the Fractal Design Define R3 offers a convenient and good looking way of hiding them away. The motherboard has rubber covered holes in which you can easily route the cables behind the motherboard, keeping things nice and tidy. There is also a cut-out on the motherboard tray. This is ideal if you are a user that changes their CPU cooler often. The cut-out will allow you to change CPU cooler brackets without having to remove the motherboard from the system. This hole has been increased in size compared to the Fractal Define R2, providing greater compatibility.
At the front of the case you will find space for two 120mm fans, with one 120mm fan supplied. Both fans have air filters and are designed to introduce cooler air into the case as well as aid cooling of the hard drives. You'll also notice that the inside of the door is coated in noise reducing foam. The only down side to this is that the Fractal Design Define R2 can not accommodate a fan controller that fits into a 5.25" drive bay due to space restrictions. But that should not be a problem because Fractal Design have supplied a very handy little fan controller that uses up one PCI slot, which can control up to three fans!
Graphics card and CPU cooler compatibility
The Fractal Define cases are very roomy, which means they are accommodate some of the largest graphics cards and CPU coolers available. Graphic cards up to 290mm in length are compatible. As for CPU coolers, the maximum height is 165mm. This means virtually all of our CPU coolers will be compatible with this chassis.

Superb
operating system:Windows 7I've been using Ebuyer for probably around a decade and this is my first review.
This case is absolutely superb, and I'm not someone who is necessarily impressed by IT components or peripherals.
Loads of room. Great ventilation and very quiet.

operating system:Windows 7After some cooling issues with R2 I got the R3 and my dear, what a difference! Cools everything well and does it so without almost no sound at all. I had my doubts about the sound of included fans so I ordered a couple of Sharkoons Silent Eagles for their quietness (only 18 DB). Wrong!!! Trust the Fractal Design folks. Can't stress it enough. Those virtually silent Sharkoons sound almost like torpedoes comparing to the fans that Fractal Design uses in this case! Plus if you will ever need more (which I doubt, unless you put some crazy specs in there) get the Fractal fans as they are just so much better. Case is only fairly heavy, very black, looks seriously stylish right next to my Sony TV and only light is the ring around the power button. Minimal, but works very well. Highly recommended case that is getting lots of good reviews as well.
High Quality Case
operating system:Windows 7This is a very well designed case manufactured to a high standard. It has a lot of potential for different system configurations. From a simple motherboard and one hard drive to a multi-disk raid array using a water cooling system for the CPU. I have used it to make a video editing workstation using a 4 disk raid array and one independent system disk (there are plenty of spaces for hard drives!). The CPU is a AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition with a (very large) custom CPU cooler. It is straight forward to get all the wires organised neatly and easy to install (and service) all the parts. The air flow through the case has been well thought out and there are many different fan mounting points making all kinds of cooling setup combinations possible. I use a simple set up with one rear fan and one fan at the front cooling the hard drive RAID array. They are both running at low revolutions which when combined with the case's decent sound insulation means I have a acceptably low noise computer. One thing that is worth being aware of is that the CD/DVD player is behind the front panel door. This looks really neat but means to get to the CD player you need to swing open the door. For occasional access to the CD player I find this totally fine. However, anyone that needs constant access to this would find this setup inconvenient. All-in-all though, this is a top notch case!
Beautiful and quite
operating system:Windows 7I mainly bought this to be quiet case and it delivered!
It has a lot of sound proofing (and optional sound proofing if you want to add a few more fans). It has a nice design inside and out and is a solid build with no flimsy panels! the white parts inside the case was a nice touch however pretty pointless considering it doesn't have a window.
I used the optional fan controller which fits into a spare expansion bay at the back and with this on its lowest setting it seemed to be much quieter than the motherboard controlled settings but even on its highest setting it was still quieter than my last pc.
If I have any issues with this case it seemed to be with cable management. The rubber grommets seem to fall out very easily and are quick annoying to get back in. Also the room at the back of the motherboard was not exactly great either. maybe just half an inch extra would have made all the difference.
overall though this is an amazing case and would recommend it to anyone especially when you get all the great features of a 150 quid case for this price!
