How to use rubber fixings.
Great fan, excellent design! Embarassed to admit that I had no clue how to use the silicone fixings. And why there are 4 regular fan screws... would you not crack the plastic trying to use them?
The following may be obvious to the veteran. But it took me 30 minutes to figure out the silicone fixings. And all it takes is just some carefull looking and using your brain.
The silicone has an arrow shape in the middle which is to go through the mounting holes from the outside to the inside (or reversed, it doesn't really matter but looks neater this way). And like an arrow, when it comes out on the inside, you can't pull it back out. The arrow shape expands once pushed through and locks. That's the principle.
Problem is: getting that arrow shape through the much smaller holes in the case and fan. You can't push it: the silicone bends. You can't pull it too hard or it'll rip apart. You can try using tiny pincers to squeeze the fixings through the holes but you can't really see where you're going and end up piercing the silicone.
Solution: the bit before the arrow will go through no problem. So you have some silicone sticking out both ends. Pull both ends to stretch the silicone, making the overall diameter smaller. Then pulling the inner end slightly harder than the outer end makes the arrow go through the holes with ease.
Cool Fan
operating system:Windows 7I have had this fan for about 3 weeks now and I am still loving it. It is very easy to put into the case you can do this by the screws or what I found that was easy you get long rubber screws and you just pull them though the case and the holes in the fan where the screws would go and thats it all done very easy. you do have the choise to have a 3 pin power contector or you can clip on a gismo and change it to a molex 4 pin again thanks ebuyer
Very Quiet - Great rubber fixing.
operating system:Windows 7This is a really great fan shifts loads of air but still low rpm so its quiet. The rubber fixings included are great holding the fan well and reducing vibrations.
Interesting
operating system:Windows 7It moves quite a bit of air, and it's pretty quiet at slower speeds. Looking forward to cleaning it, cause it all seems to come apart well.
