Solid State Drives DO NOT require defragmentation. It may decrease the lifespan of the drive.
Consumers may see a discrepancy between reported capacity and actual capacity; the storage industry standard is to display capacity in decimal. However, the operating system usually calculates capacity in binary format, causing traditional HDD and SSD to show a lower capacity in Windows. In the case of SSDs, some of the capacity is reserved for formatting and redundancy for wear leveling.
Rated speeds may vary slightly depending on the benchmark used, drivers, windows version, bios version and file size. We recommend using ATTO, IOMeter, and PC Mark Vantage for benchmarking SSDs and to achieve maximum rated specifications. operating system:Windows 7I have to say that I am stunned by how much of a difference this has made to the speed of my pc. I am currently running on a SATA II motherboard so I am not even running this drive close to the speeds that it can do, this being said cold boot in under 15 seconds and a restart get me back into windows with everything loaded and ready to go in under 10 seconds.
If you are looking to upgrade the speed of your current system then look no further. If you are looking at this and you are not sure if you should get one then you must be mad, buy this and and truly see a performance increase.
If you are looking at buying just one upgrade for your system make it this.

I went for the 120GB over the 60GB for the increased performance and the extra space, I was a bit unsure at first due to the massive gap in price, but it was so worth it and I have no regrets

operating system:Windows 7I've configured this as my boot drive with all my apps and documents on it. I'm using my old drive as a second drive to store photos and music. Bought the 120Gb version so I could get all my junk on it. So far I'm pretty impressed, I turn my computer on and within a few seconds I'm logged on and using it. Apps load almost instantly except for BF2 which accesses my old, knackered DVD ROM. After a while of using the machine the second hard drive powers down (when not accessed) and the machine becomes almost silent.
Treat yourself you know you deserve it.
Quality Product

Inside windows all software is ultra responsive.
I run this alongside an i5-750, 6gig 1600mhz cl7 ram and crossfire hd 5770.
