    Brilliant bargain case

I've been using one of these for 6 months or so now after getting one as part of a budget build and I've been nothing but impressed by it. For such a cheap case I wasn't expecting much, but it's surpassed my expectations in both build quality and functionality.

Plenty of room for cooling on a simple system (let's face it, that's what most people buying these will be building) and a really tidy looking case, I'd recommend this to anyone.

The bundled PSU isn't anything groundbreaking, but certainly good enough to comfortably run a basic system. There's no 6pin PCI power fitting so you'll need a molex converter if that's your thing but in those situations you'd be better off upgrading the PSU in all honesty.

    In essence; Get involved.

    Fantastic Budget Case
    review by:Tom Wiseman rating:

Recently bought this case as part of a budget build for my dad. I have to say, I am very impressed. I mainly went for this one as it was the cheapest option that came bundled with a PSU, but also has front USB ports built in. It was a bit of a leap of faith, due to the lack of other reviews, but I wasn't disappointed!

There are a few things to note, of course:

    Pros:
    - Far more cooling options that suggested by the description! Can fit 100mm fan on rear, 100mm plus behind front mesh panel (next to hard drive bays), and two (probably) 120-140mm on the side panel. I'm happy to go over and measure these properly if anyone would like to know for certain.
    - Access hole on motherboard plate for getting at cooler mountings without having to remove every component.
    - Bundled with plenty of screws/brass mounts, rubber pads for the case's feet etc.

    Cons:
    - The PSU is cheap, as you'd expect. So obviously don't expect to push it to the max constantly, but it should be fine as long as you don't have any big, power-hungry graphics cards etc. The biggest issue with this low quality is the molex connector plugs; the pins are quite loose within the casing, and I had an absolute nightmare lining them up with a molex-to-SATA power converter (which you're likely to need, as there is only one SATA connector on the PSU).
    - Again, as you'd expect, there are quite a few sharp edges - particularly in the hard drive bays and back panel. Just bear this in mind and be careful!
    - The 5.25" bay covers are quite flimsy, and a bit difficult to get out. I managed to bend one quite badly as I was popping out the one above it, but it should be fine as long as you're careful.

Overall, I think this case is fantastic value given the price. I have given it four stars because, while it is still clearly a budget case, you are getting a lot for your money! Don't be put off by the fact that my "cons" section looks bigger than "pros", as they're mainly things to keep in mind rather than actual negative points!

    GOOD FOR THE PRICE

Bought this case for a cheap budget build, obviously under £25 is cheap even for an empty case, but when you consider you get a 500w power supply with this as well, it`s a total bargain.

If you are after a top quality case you need to spend more money, but don`t buy a dirt cheap case then moan about it.

If you are after a cheap, basic, nice looking case to revamp you computer or for a small budget build, this is perfect for you.

The case looks nice, the power buttons and usb ports feel solid, the metal is quite thin so does need handled with care.

The power supply is as basic as you can get, the cables are pretty short, and there is only one sata connector so if you have more than one sata device you will need a molex to sata converter.

I would be happy to buy this unit again as a cheap option.

    What a piece of crap
    review by:Anonymous rating:

It is a cheap and nasty piece of rubbish and have got no idea why ebuyer have it in their product portfolio. It took me twenty minutes to get the ATX motherboard into position....it is TIGHT as there is a bulkhead that divides the 3.5 bays from the 5.25 bays. It butts right up against the ATX board which means that you have to flatten the earthing clips on the IO bracket to wedge the motherboard into position..

When I screwed up the motherboard onto the brass hex stand-offs, the bottom brass chassis part of the hex screws stripped (under very slight pressure) meaning that I could not tighten the retaining screws down onto the motherboard for good earth bonding - making it completely unusable. This happened on EVERY screw. (Was using hex nuts and locking screws supplied by mfr.)

I am now going to have to drill out the hex brass nuts from the bottom to get the motherboard out of this piece of rubbish.

I have been building PCs since 2004 - this is the worst case I have ever seen.
