Dual Core 1.8GHz not 1.66GHz
These boards are a dual core 1.8ghz D525 Atom not 1.66Ghz as ebuyer are stating! These fly with 4gb Ram and Windows 7 64 Bit.
A great little board with 1.8ghz dual core and Sodimm memory
operating system:Not ApplicableGot this just to see what it was like and build a mini pc with an ex-display case ( quickfind code: 205560 for new case ) and 2gb Sodimm ( quickfind code: 164770 - yes it takes SODIMM, or laptop memory as others call it and NOT conventional desktop sticks ).
Stuck an old 250gb sata drive in and an old cdrw/dvd drive and threw XP 64 bit on it without any probs. Dual core cpu with hyper-threading shows as 4 cpus in task manager. This makes a cracking little office machine for general purpose desktoping etc but remember it only has an analogue vga output on it. No digital out through DVI or HDMI.
Stuck on old laptop PCIE mini wireless card in for the network connection and am very pleased with the buy.
Get one of the Zotac boards if you want a micro media centre to output to a large screen TV. All in all built for under a £100 ( new parts not including 2nd hand ones I used ) and much better performance than the old Revo 3600 I've got, just a shame about no HDMI or DVI. If Intel added that it would be the dogs :-)
My thoughts
With reference to previous comments/reviews.
This board does in fact have digital audio albeit as a header, which is easily connected to make a co-axial output.
Using the Core Avc codec I find I can play 1080 video using Media Player Classic ( or MPC Home Cinema as it is now called) providing it is configured correctly and I'm not running any other programs. It plays 720 video easily. This codec uses both Cpu cores.
I have used this board for sometime with an SSD and find it builds a great, low power and silent computer.

operating system:Not ApplicableUsing this as a media server ( With a mini-pcie sata port multiplier connected to 8 * 2TB hard drives ) I'm very pleased with the performance / features / stability & price of this board. One small problem i had was with the back io shield not quite aligning with the connectors. Not sure if was the the case or the motherboard at fault though. Anyways, might be worth having a file to hand during installation.
