Simply wow
operating system:Windows 7I was looking around to for a monitor to go with a home built gaming rig and after some time settled on the LG IPS235V. All I can say is WOW. I work in IT and use a lot of monitors and equipment and the image quality is outstanding.
I almost didn't buy the LG because of the price, it seemed too cheap. But it had good reviews so I took the plunge and I'm glad I did.
The ebuyer service was excellent too and the cheapest price around.
Very happy.
Correction
I'd like to correct myself regarding the buttons. It all makes sense now why they are not labelled - they don't have to be because when you press any one of them, a menu comes up right above the buttons, indicating which one is which. It is also dynamic, so the pictures/indicators will change depending on the menu level you're in.
Brilliant monitor for Gaming, videos and general computing.

I spent the best part of a week looking for a 2nd 23" monitor with a budget of 200 to act as an extended display and also as a display for my xbox 360. After doing lots of research and weighing up all my options, i decided to go for this IPS monitor as iv head alot of good reviews about the technology. My original monitor is an LG E2360 TN display (only a few months old), which up till now i found flawless and better than anything iv seen. However it does not stand up to the quality of the IPS235v. The IPS technology seems to bring colours to life with its brilliant contrast, just watching my wallpapers change i can see the quality difference between the two. This monitor is so good within 15 minutes i decided to move them around and use it as my main monitor. As for gaming, i can see small bits of detail i could never see before. On games like battlefield 3 i can see people inside windows from a massive distance where the contrast is usally so low i cant make them out, now i usally can. Ontop of this, the comments i have read elsewhere about ghosting are not true. For an avid gamer who has been playing xbox live competitivley for the past 5 years, this has no ghosting which i can see or notice (im 19 with perfect eye sight) and it by far surpasses my expectations. For £140 this 23" is such good value for money. The way i see it is that you pay £140 for pure display quality, no rubbish 2 watt speakers eating into the price/quality. As for the physical aspects, the stand is fairly heavy making the screen fairly sturdy. The screen itself is thin and the brushed metal effect is very attractive. One thing iv noticed is that compared to the shiny plastic effect, fingerprints and little marks arnt visible, so the monitor appears to stay looking clean and new. The connections on the back are easy to hook up while facing down so that you can actually push the monitor up the the back of your desk. The buttons on the front and the menu are also simple and easy to navigate.
Overall i would say this monitor is brilliant overall. It is very well designed and the physical quality is great. I cant really think of any flaws whatsoever, definetly 5 stars.

This monitor is amazing. Why I have never bought an IPS monitor before - i will never know. Compared to my other 2 LG E2250V's, this monitors crushes them.
The colour quality is outstanding - sharp, crisp, clear - perfect.
If you are looking for a brilliant monitor, buy this one. It's so good I am buying another 2 next week and replacing my other 2 LG E2250V's.
