Great Cooler!!!

operating system: Windows Vista

This cooler worked great dropping my CPU temp by 9 degrees on Silent Mode!

Setup:
Case: ThermalTake Soprano - 2x 12cm fans, 1x8cm fan
M/B: ASUS P5WD2-Premium - Socket 775
CPU: Intel 805 - 2.66GHZ
RAM: 1GB Corsair Value Select PC4200 (x2)
Hard Drives: 1 x 60GB WD, 1 x 250GB WD, 1 x 320GB WD
GPU: PX6600LE - PCI-E

Stock Cooler (No Overclock)
Idle: 47C
Load: 60C

Zalman CNPS9700 LED (No Overclock)
Idle: 38C
Load: 47C

Zalman CNPS9700 LED (25% Overclock - CPU=3.32GHZ)
Idle: 40C
Load: 49C

The above figures show the Zalman fan in silent mode. Using the fan at full speed dropped the temp by a further 2C but this increases the noise slightly.

The thermal grease was very easy to use. The heatsink is quite delicate, probably because of the size of it. It did take me a while to setup as you have to take out the whole motherboard to put a bracket on the back, but all is explained on the Zalman site.

Overall, a great CPU cooler.

Great product

This huge fan looks great viewed through the case side window.

Easy to install on a Athlon AM2 chip, but becareful as the fins on the cooler can easily cut your skin!

Dropped the CPU temp from 54C with a standard cooler to 42C.

It is very quiet when the fan mate is set to its lowest speed.

Added a Zalman heatpipe power supply too, now the only noise I can hear from my computer is the hard drives ticking away.

Had this baby for over a year now and it knocked 15 degress off of the standard fan that came with my Dual core 4600+. Would recommend anything Zalman.

Great!

I got this cooler because of its recommended by Tom's Hardware (that should be enough to persuade you as well!).

It works great with the "Antec P180" case, as it has two 120mm fans right above and next to the heatsink (because the PSU is mounted at the bottom of that case).

I've provisionally got my Q6600 running at 3.0Ghz at (load) 62'c but thats with the fan only at 1900/2800RPM.

Thermal paste nail polish applicator is very nice!

Great Cooler

Great Cooler, reduces temp by min 10 degrees at idle compared to a stock cooler.

Mounting any cooler of similar size is not very straight forward. On some mobos you'll have to remove motherboard cooling for install.

You'll have to remove crazy cool from Gigabyte mobo before install (though I've heard of one guy who used custom bolts to mount the cooler on top of it!)

Cooler works with Q6600 on a GA-X38-DQ6 board in a Thermaltake Kandalf case.

Excellent!

Replaced my stock AMD AM2+ cpu fan. Running a quad core 2.6Ghz Phennon temps are as follows

Stock Idle = 50

Zalman Idle = 42-44

Stock Load = 56

Zalman Load = 47

Overall a great fan, looks excellent through the side of my case. Fitting was easy although you need to be careful handling the copper fins.

Massive and well made.

i use it with the Fan off with Pentium D 930. Under normal condition (web browing, playing some music and movies) the CPU is about 40 degrees and motherboard is about 32. considering it's May atm, it's pretty good for fanless heatsink. if i turn fan on, temperature drops to about 30 to 32.

when i play games, Counter-Strike, GTA, Godfather, CPU is about 48 to 50 with fan off. but if i turn fan on to it's lowest setting, the temperature drops to about 42.

the fan is soo quite and soo cool in blue light. anyway....... it's good buy for 25 £ cause i got 10£ with google checkout.

buy it

Great

Superb fan. Looks the part for starters! Dozens of copper fins over a translucent fan which lights up with a blue LED. Great for viewing in my case.

Very quite! It's literally silent in silent mode and considerbly quite at full speed. Talking of which the FanMate 2 accessory is very useful and easy to use, allowing me to turn up and down the fan speed as I feel the need.

The thermal grease which comes with it is very effective. Matched up to Arctic Silver 5 it came out bang on target with it, and is even easier to use and apply.

Only downfall is price. But I suppose that's the cost of brilliant cooling.

Wow.

Brilliant peice of kit. Monitored by uGuru, my new Conroe 6600 hasn't gone above 32 degrees celcius, though I've only been able to monitor it with a medium load so far. Idles at 29 degrees. The fan adjuster is a little ugly admitedly, but then again, my machine is much worse. It's mounted inside, I cut a hole through a front panel for the knob. Ha.

Good buy but, not so easy to install

Just fitted it today, using a quad q6600 @ 2.6ghz for the mo running at 34 degree idel and 40 load on low fan speed pretty good. I had problems fitting the bracket the correct way because of my asus blitz formual motherboard the heat pipe next to it was to close to the to socket bracket to fit but i turned the bracket around and it's ok. The middel brace is hard to screw down and takes some fidding i recommend putting the brace horizontal insted of diagonal, but still will take some fiddling to get it in there. Overall I will give it 8 out of 10 it's hard to fit and I recommed you take it slow and take your time and plan how your gonna fit it. As for the thermal paste it's good imo. for AMD user's it will be a breeze to fit the unit, but for intel user's it will take a littel more time.
