Caution
review by: Anonymous os: Windows Vista

I installed this processor using the supplied fan, it all works fine. Better than fine this is a beast!! If your into games forget the quad core Q6660 this kick's serious butt! I'm running an SLI system and this is perfect!

Although CPU temps were running a little high using the standard fan, Standby 49 and games temp rose to 54.

I installed item number 91817 Zalman CNPS7700-CU fan and hey presto standby temp is now a cool 30 and running games at full pelt!! is still only 36.

The Zalman fan is set to half speed when I took the temps and you couldn't even here the fan!!

Quality product. But the heat-sink that came with the cpu was fiddly to snap in to the motherboard and took a few re-seating attempts to get right. Otherwise I'm 100% happy with this CPU.

Just got one of these to replace my old e6600. The 6850 is the fastest non "extreme" core duo chip around. Chip overclocks well. Forget the q6600 pretty pointless as only a few applications support multiple processors/cores

With 4gb of OCZ memory 800 memory

500 gb sata hdd

Asus pk5 mobo

Asus nvidia EN7300GS graphics card

vista 64bit ultimate edition os

im not a gamer so didnt overspend on the graph card but the whole system really is fast.

You are able to open more than forty browser windows on the desktop in Aero and its very very stable. nothing seems to slow it.

Case is the Antec sonata III with built in psu earthwatts 500. 120cm 3 speed fan comes with case.

Very quiet setup using standard supplied HSF.

Temps are under 22c. I wanted something speedwise to last a few years....this is it.

SPEC: THIS AND EBUYER VALUE 8800GTX

The Processor is so quick that when im downloading stuff off the internet and playing games at the same time like bioshock, oblivion and Supereme commander they have little or no lose of profomance.

Iv played Oblivion for couple of hours and my losest fram rate was about 32 but consistenly about 60 frames a second outdoors with everythink turn to max.Bioshock looks and plays beatiful.

I really happy with my perchace.what a price.i ive overclocked order systems to gain perfomnce but there really no need with one of these and a GTX 8800

Overclocking? Who Cares!

The fact is that this chip is so fast that overclocking is not necessary. It runs at 25C at idle even with the stock cooler and at 31C whilst benchmarking. 3Dmark06 scores are the best I have ever seen and framerates with a decent graphics card are more than adequate for Cryis. At the price this chip is unbeatable!
