duo 1.8
had a 3.46 celoron before this , differance for a few quid is amazing , well chuffed thanx for asuper efficent del .
Great CPU that does not come with heatsink or fan.
operating system:Windows XPI bought this CPU as an alternative to the E2160 Retail, which was priced higher. This does not come with a heatsink or fan. I had already bought a separate cooling unit for silent running (Thermalright Ultra-120A, that can be had for 26 quid and Noctua 1200RPM fan), so this was perfect.
On a Gigabyte P31 DS3L I have it clocked at 2.9GHZ. It is rock stable and is virtually silent, running much quieter than even my watercooled setup.
Outstanding ... so far
operating system:Windows XPI bought this as a cheap dual core to put in a spare/lan gaming PC. With the intention of overclocking it too. So far I have pushed it from 1.8 to 2.7ghz without increasing the voltage at all, using the Zalman CNPS7700 that I already had.
Great CPU for the money
operating system:Windows VistaBought this to go in a new rig, I was planning to overclock and had heard stories of the Intel cooler being noisy so decided to save myself a few pennies and get the OEM one then buy an aftermarket cooler.
Now, for the CPU, what can I say, amazing! I just cant unsderstand how they produce this for the price! I have played with overclocking and managed to get this stable at 3.44Ghz with a small voltage increase although it did run rather hot at 92degrees (a better HSF or watercooling would be ideal)Ran Prime 95 on both cores and didnt drop a beat. Have now dropped the FSB back a bit and have it running solid at 3.15Ghz at 65degrees under heavy load (again prime 95 on both cores)32 degrees idle and aroung 45-50 running games. What an amazing performer, Toms Hardware

recently benchmarked this (clocked at 3.2ghz) against the E6850 (core 2 duo, 3ghz, 4mb cache) and this performed really well, almost keeping up with the 6850 in most tests (including games) so if your planning to build a new machine dont go for an expensive core2duo, get one of these and spend the savings on a better graphics card, this will get you more bang for your buck!
