Oh My God.
operating system:
Windows XPThis is a fantastic cooler!
I am running a PhenomII X4 955 @ 3.2Ghz. With stock cooling I would hit over 55c under load.
With this baby installed I rarely break 40c, and I'm idling under 30c most of the time.
Now here's the killer part - those temps are with the fan running at around 60%!
For the price I honestly cannot see any other cooler coming close to this.
A little tricky to fit as the instructions aren't great, but a little patience and care goes a long way.
No brainer really.
(Also I reccommend using Arctic Silver 5 with this cooler - the supplied TIM was a bit of a joke)
Great
operating system:
Windows 7This monster (and it believe me its huge), works a treat. My phenom X4 940 idles around 28-33 and thats overclocked to 3.6mhz. Even under load gaming it rarely goes up by more than 5 degrees. Bit of a ball ache to fit as if you want to swap a cpu you have to wip out the mobo etc. But very happy compared to my OCZ cooler which idled at 40 and hit 50+ when gaming. Please check your case size because it is really bloody big!
Great cooler
This is a great CPU cooler. There are more details on the manufacturers website. I bought it to use with a Core i7 920. At stock settings and reasonable loads I see temperatures of around 35-45 deg C.
The only issue I had with it is that the holes for the inner four screws that attach to the CPU mounting bracket were too small for the screws supplied. I drilled the holes out an extra mm and it was fine.
The cooler needs to be attached to the motherboard before you put it in the case. Its pretty big too.
great value
operating system:
Not ApplicableI've fitted three Noctua NH-U12P and three of these recently, all tested on a bench together. In each case the temps were around 7 degrees lower with this.
However the downsides are it's very big, fiddly to fit the mounting plate (instructions are useless) and it's a mummy board removal to re-seat it, so always power up to check temps before you fit it in a case.
Still worth the hassle though.
LGA1156 clips
when Mugen 2 with 1156 clips will be available? It's on the market for minimum 1 month now.
(but rather not in the UK)
