Excellent CPU
operating system:
Windows XPI am using this CPU with a Gigabyte motherboard (GA-MA770-UD3 rev 2) and with 4GB of PC2-6400 RAM.
With AMD's Cool 'n' Quiet enabled and when the CPU is under-used the cores under-clock to 800MHz and under-volt to 0.950V. Power consumption drops to 9W and, in my setup, the temperature is about 40 degrees Celsius. Under load the temperature rises to about 55 degrees Celsius.
The supplied CPU heat-sink and fan work well and were easy to attach to my motherboard. The heat-sink had thermal grease pre-applied.
Performance is excellent, as expected.
Powerful Processor - Good for the Environment
operating system:
Windows 7I bought this processor due to it's high speed and low power consumption. I operate on a MSi Media Live DIVA for use in a living room HTPC therefore cool and quiet was essential. This processor is very fast, and does not cause too much noise. I do not use the packaged heatsync and opted for a Scythe Minin Ninja which provides more than adequate cooling.
This is a great compromise between low power consumption, cool running and high speed.
