Super fast
operating system:Windows 7I've upgraded from an Athlon 64 X2 and what a difference it makes. Rendering photos in Lightroom is about six times faster.
My chip overclocked easily to 4.5GHz, with 1.31V, making it even faster than it comes out of the box - and in fact about as fast as any PC chip currently available.

Even at stock speeds the i5 2500k was able to outperform my overclocked Q6600 @ 3.6ghz in benchmarks. With a much lower core temperature i cant wait to see the overclocking potential of this processor.
4.5Ghz Overclock

Idles at 32degrees with Aksa Freezer Pro 7 (on turbo fan speed).
Used this with an Asus P8z68-v Pro and 2x 4gb Corsair Vengence. System runs rock solid and is stupidly fast.

stuck this beauty into an asrock extreme4 with 2x4gb ddr3 vengance

booted up installed, back into bios changed multi to 46 and nothing else
speedstep keeps it low 1v @1600 and jumps to 1.35 under load(4.6ghz)
at around 64c average across cores under a h70
maybe placebo but everything feels much smoother
roll on the new intel 510 ssd's
if your in the market for a upgrade getone of these you wont be disapointed
