Great!

Contrary to other reviews I must add that this case DOES accept full size Graphics cards, it is simply a matter of moving the drive cage to its alternate position, after moving it over my huge GTX series card fit staright in.

It seems the two postitions are for MATX or ATX boards.

cannot fault this case whatsoever

Superb!

This really is a great HTPC case for the money. Great build quality, and fits in with a stack of other AV kit like amps and DVD players. The fact that it takes a full ATX board and fits with such a stack is why I got it. As always it pays to replace the stock fans supplied with something a bit quieter, though. This stripped several degrees off the running temp of the hardware inside compared to my old Coolermaster box, which was just about the same size, but way more congested inside.

Very Nice looking case!

Amazing build quality, fantastic looking case. It has a brushed aluminium finish on the front. and a very sweet looking VFD (vacuum fluorescent display).

The screen is by iMon, very similar to the old screen on the original Antec Fusion. The iMon software is supplied, as is the remote control.

The only negative thing is the cooling. I wouldn't try building a gaming rig in this case. Although, it does have enough cooling for a decent HTPC.

I have a Phenom II 125W CPU @ 2.8GHz running in mine, using a Mini Ninja cooler. It runs great!

This case takes full size ATX motherboards, and full size expansion cards.

There are 2 x 3.5" drive slots, both with silicone grommets for anti-vibration. This may not seem like enough, however, I currently have 2 x 1TB HDDs in there.

There is a decent card reader, pre-installed (behind the flip down panel). The flip down panel is also spring loaded, and opens smoothly.

The bezel for the front of the DVD drive is solid aluminium, so it is quite heavy once you have stuck it onto your DVD drive. I'd recommend glueing it on, rather than using the supplied adhesive tape.

Everything apart from the front panel is steel, so it is very heavy for a case this size. Although, that won't matter when it is set up.

The PSU stands vertically in this case. I would recommend getting a good PSU, otherwise you may cause a massive heat build-up inside the system (never a good thing :P ). I installed a fanless, high performance, very expensive PSU into mine. It's ideal, as most of the heat just flows out of the back instead.

I never tested the original included 80mm fans. I replaced them with 2 x Noctua 800RPM SILENT fans. I really wanted this system to be very quiet. It cost a little more, but I was successful.

The case lid opens up like an amplifier, with two screws on each side.

Conclusion:

Very nice looking case, with a fantastic VFD display. The layout is a little tricky, but worth the challenge.

The main issue is the ventilation. There are only 2 80mm fans, and a couple of vents on the left & right side.

In my opinion, this case rivals both Antec's & SilverStone's HTPC ranges in terms of aesthetics.

If the ventilation were to be improved, this case would get 5 stars. Due to the potential for heat build-up, I give it 4 stars.

It's a looker

Well I bought this case for my first scratch build and can honestly say I'm more than happy with the result.

My aim was to create a Media PC with Gaming capabilities and my new rig delivers on all grounds.

The build quality of this case is excellent, with a nice card reader installed. The Imon panel works very well and adds a nice 'HiFi' feel to the completed build.

There are a couple of criticisms I do have but niether is a 'deal-breaker'.

Firstly the pre insalled fans are very noisy and I ended up disconnecting them completely. With a decent modular power supply with a big fan this is not a problem, especially if you're building with a cool running Processor like a 5 series core 2 Intel.

Secondly the 3.5 inch drive bays are not ideally positioned for a big graphics card, I only just managed to squeeze my Nvidia 8800 in there, and even then only with some 'creative' modification of the drive housing. If you have any of the newer, longer monster cards to fit, forget it, unless you are ready to build a new 3.5 inch drive housing.

However my new rig eats "Total War Empire" alive on full settings and runs very quietly/cooly with just the PSU fan and GFX card cooling. The whole thing looks great too.

In conclusion, a great case for a good looking media/gaming compramise machine (ideal for most descerning users) however if you want the ultimate monster rig with bleeding edge technology fitted, look elsewhere (you nutcase you ;)).

Lovely case... major setback

The two reviews above are excellent so I wont expand on them any more except to say that I bought this case with the intention of making it an ATX system... however the LCD display has an MATX plug!!!

I wonder if anyone can advise how to get around this problem as this is an expensive case with a useless LCD system at the moment.

Great case. Solid build. With Asus Board 160931 and one of my old AMD 4200+ CPU and one SSD, it is so quiet. The asus board with power control software EPU, hardly hear fans moving.

4 star because it lack of any kind manual.
