Awesome product
operating system:
Windows VistaBought this to replace my Intel E8400 and 775 board. No overclocking is needed its performs almost the same at stock. (185 bsclk 3.7 was only 4% extra) The turbo features are very clever stepped depending how many physical cores are used. Performance is identicle to the Core i7 920 in my X58 rig. Used 2gb of 1600mhz Corsair Dominator but 1333mhz would have been fine.
Blistering - the performance, not the processor temperature!
operating system:
OtherBought this as a replacement for my old Asus A7N8X Deluxe Socket A (Athlon XP2800) system, which has done sterling service for 7 years.
Installed with a decent cooler (Arctic Cooler Freezer 7 Pro v2 (ebuyer you really should stock them!)onto the Gigabyte GA-P55 UD3R board. Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit installed and runs very smoothly - and boy is it fast! Windows 7 Experience clocks the processor at 7.4 and the rest of the system at 6.9.
System is whisper quiet, CPU never drifts above 28 degrees even with a mild overclock, and if it lasts me anywhere near as long as my old rig I will be well pleased!
Other components:
Gigabyte GA-P55 UD3R
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro v2
4GB Kingston 1066 DDR3
Gigabyte HD4350 512Mb graphics
Powercool 550w PSU
Samsung Spinpoint 500GB SATA HDD
2 x LG DVD writers, one IDE (from old system), one SATA
Antec P150 case
Yikes! this is great
operating system:
OtherWhat a great processor.
1.Priced really well and affordable.
2. Turboboost tech works great.
3. Very efficent
4. great performance
5. Very overclockable
There's nothing really to fault this processor. If your looking to make a cutting edge gaming rig but not burning a hole in your wallet, get this processor. You wont regret it.
It's the only processor Tom's Hardware have recommended in 2years, thats how good it is in terms of price v performance.
Great delivery from Ebuyer also. Never at fault.
Great
Got with,
Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3 iP55 Socket 1156 8 channel audio ATX Motherboard 173535
&
Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz/PC3-12800 XMS3 i5 Memory Kit CL9(9-9-9-24) 1.65V 173122
Runs like a dream.
Great bang for the buck!
operating system:
OtherThis chip is seriously fast and runs all the games I've thrown at it like a dream, even at stock.
If you don't need an i7 for hypertheading applications like high end video editing or encoding then the i5 750 is excellent value for money.
It's beastly for o/c and I've managed to clock mine to 4.2Ghz, a 63% boost on the original clock speed.
Excellent!
operating system:
OtherThis is an excellent processor...can't really say anything to fault it for the price.
And for those of you planning on building a new system soon...don't bother with anything but the stock cooler unless you plan on overclocking. Idle temps at standard clock are around 26 degrees with the stock cooler in my system. Little point messing around with tubes of silver compound either!
Overall...brilliant.
Great
operating system:
Windows 7Comes with no thermal compound... and needs none. Idles at 28 degrees C with the fan included.
I don't overclock, so I don't know how well the stock fan holds up to higher clock speeds, but if you're not going to overclock, don't bother buying a third party fan. It's unnecessary.
Amazing processor in every way.
On some motherboards, when this processor is combined with higher amounts of RAM, Windows may list much of the RAM as unusable (even in 64bit). To get around this, you have to enable memory mapping in your motherboard bios.
Super Fast
operating system:
OtherThis is a quick cpu. I bought this with an ASROCK P55 PRO & DDR3 1600 all for 300. Not bad at all for a quad core and the Turbo boost is genius!
Highly recommended!!! scored 7.3 in Windows 7 (stock speed).
Faultless
operating system:
Windows 7In conjunction with:

Casecom Shiny Piano Black Mid Tower Case with Red LED 120mm Front Fan and Side Window
Creative XFI SB
Crappy graph card

Booted first time, runs cool and quiet.. (stock fan)
Win 7 Experience:
CPU 7.0
RAM 7.5
Graph Card 4.0
HD 5.9
(highest is 7.9)
Wooper of a CPU for very little money
operating system:
Windows 7In the past you wood nearly have to spend close to £500 to get a decent CPU - One with an unlocked multiplier for more head room for ideal overclocking.... to get better value out of your purchase..
Well Intel launch the i5 750 2.66Ghz Quad Core - with Brand new Architecture with smaller foot print - However ...Built on the Similar Architecture as the 2008' - i7 920. According to HEXUS.
On even professional websites that test new CPUs like HEXUS, the i5 750 is beating the 3.4Ghz AMD 965 black edition in nearly every test known to man.
However, where the i5 750 leaves the Q9650 and others well behind is low power draw (very low) - cant quote off-hand. around 80w roughly tho.
The 2.66Ghz i5 750 is just really an i7 920 without the Hyper-threading.
With my MSI P55 GD65 Motherboard (bought here on ebuyer.com) I was able to get AN OVERCLOCK off 3.8Ghz on my second try, then ran 40mins of Prime 95' just to push to the Max, then left my Machine running overnight 10hrs burn in... keeping an eye on the temps too... Everything worked out fine.
In my build I added a Corsair TX 850w PSU, £120. and a ASUS GTS 250 Graphics card, £116 . Also Kingston 4GB 1333Mhz DDR3 RAM. £80
I knew MSI have the best technology in LGA1156 P55 mobo's at present, according to review websites closely followed by Gigabyte & Asus.
In my humble point of view there is not another CPU at £150 that can match or beat this chip, other than the i7 860, which is £60 more, if your an overclocker or new to clocking, stick with this i5 CPU, its taken a long time coming, but its been worth the wait.
However, if your a power user or extreme gamer looking for high end spec, (with expensive GPU) then go for the i7 860. However, even at stock speeds the i5 750 does clearly beat the AMD 965 BE 3.4Ghz Quad. That's why AMD Slashed the price of the AMD 965 BE, to compete with the i5.
