AMD Radeon RX 6600 at Ebuyer

As an entry-level, more budget-friendly option from the AMD RX 6000 Series of graphics cards, the AMD Radeon RX 6600 targets at least a 1080p resolution and 60 frames-per-second in the latest AAA releases. You'll see in the benchmarks below, however, the RX 6600 doesn't squeeze past the 60 FPS mark. In many games, it shoots right past it, even at maxed-out graphics.

It has 32MB of Infinity Cache and 8GB of GDDR6 clocked at 14 Gbps, for up to 224GB/s of memory bandwidth. Unlike other lower-priced graphics cards that compromise on VRAM, you'll be able to load up on crisp, high-res textures on a RX 6600.

Benchmarks - RX 6600

What exactly is a 'compute unit', and how does it translate into relevant, real-world performance? Instead of obsessing over tech-specs, let's look at a few benchmarks supplied by AMD to clearly gauge how the RX 6600 performs in a gaming scenario.

These benchmarks were run at a 1080p resolution and a max graphics pre-set, on a testbench equipped with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X CPU and 16GB of 3,600MHz DDR4 RAM to avoid bottlenecks elsewhere.

AMD SAM & FSR - RX 6600

In games that supported it, AMD Smart Access Memory - or SAM for short - was also enabled. SAM lets an AMD CPU access and AMD GPU's whole VRAM in one go, as opposed to small chunks, for an extra boost to performance. Gaming Performance - RX 6600

In Assassin's Creed Valhalla, one of the more performance-intensive games tested, the RX 6600 managed a very respectable 79 frames-per-second. In Far Cry 6, another sprawling open-world Ubisoft game, the RX 6600 achieved 91 FPS. Continuing with campaign-focused games with AAA-quality graphics, the RX 660 ran Hitman 3 at 144 FPS, Resident Evil Village at 145 FPS and DEATHLOOP at 85 FPS. Switching over to multi-player games, Battlefield 5 ran at 142 FPS and Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War at 95 FPS on the RX 6600.

For context, a lot of last-gen console games used to run at 30 FPS and 60 FPS in considered extremely playable among PC gamers. As such, the RX 6600's results are quite impressive for a card of its price tag. You'll be able to comfortably play the latest released at 1080p and above-console graphics on a RX 6600. It'll also saturate a high refresh gaming monitor in less demanding esports games.

Power Consumption & Form-Factor - RX 6600

Under a typical load, the AMD Radeon RX 6600 only sips around 132W from a single 8-pin connector. To power an entire RX 6600-equipped gaming PC, AMD recommends a 450W PSU at minimum.

However, these figures are based on AMD's reference design. A 550W PSU is recommended for an aftermarket design like the XFX SWFT 210 RX 6600, which helps it reach a fast 2,491MHz boost block.

Regardless, when graphics cards like the RTX 3090 Ti draw 450W and more, the RX 6600's power consumption is relatively low. It achieves this as the RX 6600 is built on AMD's super-efficient RDNA 2 GPU architecture - the same that powers the current-gen consoles - for up to 65% more performance-per-watt over RDNA 1.

As such, RX 6600 graphics cards don't need large, overkill cooling solutions.
