RX 7600 XT Specs

The AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT is based on AMD's Navi 33 GPU, which is the same chip found in the regular RX 7600. In fact, the RX 7600 and RX 7600 XT's GPUs are pretty much identical to one another. AMD's XT cards usually enjoy bit more of a spec-bump over their non-XT counterparts, but that's not the case this time around.

Just like the RX 7600, the RX 7600 XT features 32 Compute Units, 32 Ray Accelerators, and 64 AI Accelerators. Even though the actual hardware may not be all that different between these two AMD graphics cards, the RX 7600 XT does clock higher at up to 2.76GHz, versus 2.66GHZ on the RX 7600.

For some context, the RX 7700 XT (the next card up AMD's product stack) gets 54 Compute Units, 54 Accelerators, and 108 AI Accelerators. While that card's for 1440p gaming, the RX 7600 XT is very much for 1080p gaming, though it can handle some games at 1440p/60 frames-per-second according to AMD.

16GB of VRAM

Where the RX 7600 XT does see a sizable improvement over the RX 7600 is in video memory. It's doubled on the RX 7600 XT from 8GB to 16GB of GDDR6.

8GB has been the standard for a while now - you may very well have an 8GB graphics card already. So, picking up an 8GB RX 7600 may feel like a side-grade in some respects, rather than a wholesale upgrade.

The RX 7600 XT's 16GB of VRAM, on the other hand, is clearly a big jump. Given the card's relatively modest 1080p performance target, 16GB could be seen as overkill. But with how VRAM-heavy games have gotten as of late, 16GB of VRAM will help to future-proof the RX 7600 XT.

RX 7600 XT Gaming Performance

Now, let's put these specs into context and look at a few benchmarks provided by AMD. At 1080p max settings, The Last of Us: Part 1 ran at an average of 57 FPS on the RX 7600 XT. Enabling FSR Quality Mode (720p upscaled) boosts performance over the all-important 60 FPS mark. Baldur's Gate 3 and Assassin's Creed: Mirage ran at an average of 87 FPS and 96 FPS respectively, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III hitting 113 FPS - again, all without upscaling. FSR would help increase the RX 7600 XT's frame rates in these games even further.

And, according to these benchmarks, the RX 7600 XT can even handle a bit of real-time ray tracing. In Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (one of 2023''s most graphically impressive games) with ray tracing enabled, the RX 7600 XT turned in a respectable 44 FPS. FSR 3 brought the frame rate up to the 60 FPS mark, then FSR 3 Frame Generation amplified it to 121 FPS - perfect for a high-refresh 1080p gaming monitor.

RX 7600 XT Power Consumption and Form Factor

As it's clocked higher out of the box than the RX 7600, the RX 7600 XT requires a bit more juice. The RX 7600 XT is rated at a TDP of 190W, with AMD recommending at minimum a 600W PSU to power a whole RX 7600 XT-equipped gaming PC.
