Helping you choose the best HP printer for you.
If there’s one manufacturer everyone trusts its HP. They have developed a great reputation over the years for producing reliable tech. They are the first name many of us will think of when we need a new printer.
This isn’t surprising. HP printers are the most reliable you can find. They don’t break down, they deliver great results and are terrific value for money. What’s not to like?
However, if there is a problem with HP printers it’s one of choice. There are just so many to choose from. How do you pick the best HP printer for you? To help you out here’s our choice for the best HP printer for home and student users.
Best HP printer for home users
For a home user a versatile printer is the desirable option. A multifunction device which can print, scan and copy is ideal. It should also be great value for money. The HP Deskjet series first the bill nicely.
There’s a number of good value printers in the range but check out the HP Deskjet 3733. It’s the world’s smallest multifunction printer. This printer is ideal for the modern home as it’s around half the size of other multifunction printers.
It takes A4 paper and can print, copy and scan. Best of all it’s wireless so you can print directly from your smartphone or tablet. Just download the HP app and you’re good to go. You can of course choose to connect via USB if you choose.
At around £50 the HP Deskjet 3733 is a great value printer. It can print up to 19 pages a minute in mono or 15 in colour. It’s an ideal family printer and will fit easily into any room in the house.
Best HP printer for student users
Most students will be looking for a reliable but cheap printer. But one which can cope with the volume of work they’ll be producing. With HP you know you’re getting a reliable device. But do carefully consider price.
It’s very tempting to go for a very cheap inkjet model. But most students will generate plenty of pages they need to print. Especially in their final year. A cheap inkjet printer just wouldn’t be able to cope. And the cost of the ink would make it all pointless anyway.
A typical student will be better off with a small laser printer. They are faster than an inkjet. They produce better results and are more economical to use. They deliver professional quality pages so are ideal for university assignments.
The HP M14a is a compact laser printer which can turn out 19 mono pages per minute. A toner cartridge for the printer has a duty cycle of around 1,000 pages. The printer is so small it will fit into any student’s room.
A word about ink and toner
The annoying thing about printers is you have to constantly replenish ink or toner. There’s no way around that of course but people do look to save costs when they need a new print cartridge. And compatible cartridges are cheaper than the manufacturer’s ink or toner you’ll need for your new HP printer.
However, there are risks in using counterfeit or compatible products. These inks and toners can damage your printer. They also deliver sub-standard results and can spoil many of your pages. They simply don’t have the high-quality manufacture of genuine HP products.
Many people do still use compatible ink and toner. Purely based on price. But here at Ebuyer we only sell genuine HP ink and toner. And we highly recommend you only buy official products for your HP printer. You’ll get far better results and you won’t run the risk of damaging your new printer.
